Life at Hughes...

Ever wondered what really happens at a public relations consultancy? We’ve made this short video to summarise what we do for our clients which spans everything from strategic communications planning, publicity and issues management through to digital video production, social media and graphic design. Check it out here.

Bing Boy starts 2015 with a bang

It’s been a great start to 2015 for urban Asian street food retailer Bing Boy. Hughes PR has helped the company secure national media exposure about training initiatives and new supplier agreements, while also providing graphic design and social media assistance, including support for its current Instagram competition where customers can win a trip to Thailand.
Next phase for Newmarket Grandwest

Leading insurance brokers Newmarket and Grandwest recently merged, with Hughes PR working closely with the new entity to develop an integrated communications program and new brand identity including a new Newmarket Grandwest website. The combined resources of the new entity, backed by Australia’s largest insurance broking network, allows the broker to realise the full potential of existing national niche markets where both have demonstrated experience and technical leadership.

Waugh in the West: A hit at St Clair

St Clair recently played host to the annual AVJennings Waugh in the West T20 cricket match, which has grown to become one of the best supported free community events in Adelaide. This year, Steve Waugh’s All Stars took on Mark’s Mixers – a team led by local identity Mark Soderstrom, in front of a crowd of more than 4,000 onlookers. Hughes generated significant publicity before and during the event with Steve Waugh conducting multiple interviews for radio, TV and print media, and Channel Nine broadcasting its sports report live from St Clair Oval.

Supporting the next generation

As part of our ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of communications professionals, we are again offering placements for students and recent graduates in 2015.  If you are a young gun interested in learning more about the day-to-day workings of a busy PR consultancy, please get in contact with our Office Manager Maddie Angel.
