All feature on the Flinders Ranges Ediacara Foundation website developed by Hughes designer Luke Howard with input from experts around the world.
 
The Foundation was established in 2018 with a charter to protect the Ediacaran fossils found at Nilpena in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges. The Foundation protects the region for future generations as work continues to reveal the earliest remains of animal life on earth.

Community Housing Council launches Leadership Workshops

The Community Housing Council of South Australia recently launched an industry Leadership Workshop Series aimed at fostering a spirit of collaboration and knowledge sharing across the sector.
 
Starting in early 2021, the Workshops will be led by respected experts in their field spanning governance, financial sustainability, strategic development and specialised housing.
 
Hughes worked with the Council to launch the workshops by developing and rolling out marketing collateral including the branding, video, brochure, online content, establishing the booking portal, and social and digital communications. Work will continue into next year with the ongoing promotion of the workshops to drive engagement and registrations.

Rivergum Adapts to a new style of housing

Major South Australian builder Rivergum Homes has released a new style of housing, recognising the growing need to create more flexible living arrangements.

Rivergum Homes’ newly-released Adapt Series of housing designs features a second independent residence under one roof, on the same footprint as a standard house. As families increasingly look to create a modern space for ageing parents, “COVID kids” coming home from overseas and interstate, NDIS-funded family members and even the gig economy and Air B’n’Bs, the Adapt Series allows for an internal, self-contained granny flat under the one roof.

At the CORE of it

There has been a growing need for start-ups and innovators in the mining, energy and resources industries to find some commonality and collaborate on projects in SA – and CORE Innovation Hub has risen to meet those challenges.

Launched in June this year, CORE recognises the state’s pivotal position in the nation’s mining and energy sectors. CORE Innovation Hub provides meeting and workspaces, regular networking events, opportunities to collaborate on emerging technologies and professional development programs to future-proof the resources workforce. 

Hughes has been working with CORE including its launch, to support its CORE Sprint program for female start-ups, on the CORE Hot 30 list of innovators nationally, and on the CORE Exchange 2020 virtual conference. From pre, live and post-event social media coverage to media releases and graphic design, Hughes has been able to help CORE establish a strong foothold in SA.

In developing the brand for the Exchange Conference and Hot 30, existing branding was further developed to create a design that captured the concept of an endless exchange of ideas and knowledge. The designs were then applied across animation, newspaper adverts, social media graphics, pull up banners and additional marketing collateral - view the case study here

Advanced retinal imaging company, Optos, has recently been highlighting the importance of early detection of eye disease, and how its ultra-wide field optomap technology can detect eye disease before people experiencing symptoms.
 
Hughes has been assisting Optos through the creation of animated videos on the early detection of eye disease, which have appeared in the US, UK and Australia to mark important dates such as World Diabetes Day and the UK’s National Eye Health Week.
 
Hughes also supported Optos with the amplification of these messages across print and social media advertising placement in key markets.
