Unity Housing launches at Henley South

Unity Housing has launched a $30m social and affordable housing project in prime beachside suburb Henley Beach South, with building set to begin early next year.

The new 70-townhouse development will support 270 jobs and is a partnership between Unity Housing and the State Government. The redevelopment includes 22 affordable townhouses, 20 market sale townhouses and 28 social housing apartments.

Hughes has been working with Unity Housing to promote the development, including organising a media event with Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink and Unity Housing CEO Matthew Woodward, which aired on TV and featured in print and online. Subscribers to AdelaideNow can read more here.

SILK Laser Clinics grows during COVID-19

After being forced to shut its stores nationally in late March due to COVID-19, SILK Laser Clinics reopened to record trade in June, July and August as people whose travel plans were wrecked by travel bans instead spent on making themselves look and feel better.

Founder Martin Perelman has been pleasantly surprised by the high volume of new and returning customers for treatments including laser hair removal, cosmetic injections, skincare and laser tattoo removal. Much of his continued success in SILK’s 55 stores nationally also relates to ongoing, strong relationships with landlords, which have also helped boost expansion plans.

Hughes recently helped SILK with an article outlining its growth plans in the Australian Financial Review. Subscribers can read more here.

Sky's the limit for SolarTrak

In response to new State Government regulations on home solar generation, new SA company SolarTrak has launched an innovative monitoring solution that will allow the growth in home solar to continue.

For solar PV installers, SolarTrak allows the sale and installation of a single, integrated generation and load monitoring package. This approach gives installers a simple solution that meets the challenge of new regulatory requirements, and allows homeowners to keep using their solar power without disruption.

Hughes has been assisting SolarTrak with its brand creation and development and key messaging, as well as content creation and mapping of the company’s new website.

Chasecrown set for expansion after 8 South success

The luxurious $83m 8 South Esplanade development was officially opened in September with media, event and stakeholder engagement support from Hughes.

8 South features 52 apartments, an ocean-facing indoor pool, resident’s private gymnasium, garden terrace and grand porte-cochere. All the apartments have now sold including a custom-designed $4.9m penthouse - a record sale for Glenelg.

The success of the project led Adelaide home builder Medallion Homes to take a shareholding in Chasecrown to expand the business and develop new waterfront and blue-ribbon suburb projects.

The investment is the evolution of a partnership between the two businesses which started more than 20 years ago with joint venture development projects on Hutt Street and Hurtle Square. Subscribers to AdelaideNow can read more here

Helping eye care professionals save sight and lives

Hughes has been supporting Optos, a global provider of eye care devices, with digital animation to support its Australian markets. Now, Optos’s international operations in the UK and the US have asked us to produce similar videos in support of local campaigns, such as this video for the UK’s National Eye Week. Optos, using its optomap® technology, can detect eye disease before patients experience symptoms, which is helping eye care professionals save sight and lives.
