Happy New Year!

2018 is Hughes' 26th year in business.

Over the past 26 years (and in particular the last decade) Hughes has grown and evolved to keep pace with the changing communications and media landscape.

We started as a public relations agency and have diversified to offer social media, video productiongraphic design and training services - which are now a large part of our business.

Underpinning our work is a commitment to ensuring all communications are guided by strategy, maximising "the power to influence action and opinion".

We look forward to working with our clients, partners and the media in 2018.

Our latest video showreel

Video is playing an ever increasingly important role in our clients' communications strategies, keeping the Hughes video team busy in recent months.

Golden North remains cool in a crisis

Product recalls are a huge challenge for any business and there are countless examples of companies making matters worse through poor communication with their customers and the broader community.

On the other hand, Golden North’s recent ice cream recall is a great example of how to deal with a serious issue through immediate and transparent communication with all key stakeholders, including authorities, media and the general public.

Hughes worked closely with Golden North to help manage its recall issue, including media and social media strategy, news release drafting and distribution, media liaison, coordinating product recall advertisements nationally and advising on other stakeholder communications.

Pelligra Group buys General Motors Holden site

Hughes is delighted to be working with Melbourne-based developer Pelligra Group, successful buyers of Holden’s former manufacturing plant at Elizabeth, which will be re-named “Lionsgate Business Park”.

Pelligra, an established construction and development company with an extensive portfolio of successful commercial, industrial and multipurpose residential projects, will be a long-term owner/investor of the site with plans to support existing and new industry, sustainable investment and job creation.

Hughes worked with Pelligra Group and Holden on the purchase announcement in December and is looking forward to continuing its work on this exciting project.
