Greaton breaks ground on Adelaide GPO Hotel

Developer Greaton has commenced construction on the $200 million, 285-room Adelaide GPO Hotel.

The Premier of South Australia, Steven Marshall, was on hand to mark the occasion alongside Nicho Teng, Managing Director, Greaton and Richard Crawford, Senior Development Director, Marriott International.

The Adelaide GPO Hotel will incorporate 285 large guest rooms, including a Presidential Suite, Club Lounge, signature restaurants and bars, swimming pool and fitness centre, plus function and conference rooms.

It will become the first hotel operated in South Australia by the world’s largest hotel company, Marriott International.

Hughes worked with Greaton on the event and media management for the project’s key milestone, which generated broad media coverage across TV, print and radio.

In addition, Hughes graphic designer, Luke Howard, produced an animated video to highlight the hotel's key features - watch below.

Is LinkedIn cluttered with crap?

“…I repeatedly hear feedback about the sheer amount of clutter (crap) starting to appear in LinkedIn news feeds. Posts that don’t genuinely offer value or insight but which err on the side of self-serving and humble bragging.”

Our Social + Digital Media Consultant, Haley Tamblyn, shares her response to the Financial Review article about the self-serving, humble bragging culture that has taken over the news feeds of LinkedIn.

CORE Sprint winner is pitch perfect

Our graphic design team is working with Australian tech start-up Tekuma to design visual collateral and templates for their marketing and pitch presentations.

Tekuma was the winner of the 2020 CORE Sprint pre-accelerator program, securing a prize pack that included the opportunity to work with the Hughes team, supported by program organisers SpaceCubed and CORE.

Tekuma has developed a control orb that completely revolutionises remote control systems for drones, robots and other devices – operable with just two fingers instead of two hands. The company has established its base in South Australia as it builds inroads into the defence and space sectors.

Homelessness can affect anyone - women, men and children from all walks of life. It has devastating consequences for individuals and families.

Support Tim during the Vinnies CEO Sleepout and your donation will help the St Vincent de Paul Society assist more South Australians to get off the streets, off couches, out of cars and into stable accommodation.

Thank you for your support - it is truly appreciated.

The media is constantly changing as the world evolves, and as we turn to an increasingly online world, traditional media might no longer be our be-all and end-all.

Around the world, and much closer to home, the media is undergoing significant changes.

What does that mean for PR, and for businesses looking for media coverage?

Hughes consultant, Verity Edwards, talks about the changes and what that might mean for your business, and how we're working more effectively to ensure we go above and beyond to support your needs.
