Come for a Visit
While we do our best to describe our quality dental care and award-winning education program in newsletters, e-mails and grant proposals, words go only so far in conveying the true "Kids Smiles Experience," so we invite you to experience it for yourself. In a short visit to one of our dental centers in Philadelphia or Washington, DC, you will have the opportunity to see our patient families receiving quality care and comprehensive health education in our clean, state-of-the-art facilities. You can also meet our caring and respectful team that provides these critical services. To schedule a visit, call Kelly Resinger at (215) 365-1033 ext. 216. We promise that if you come for a visit, you'll leave with a smile!

The Many Faces of Kids Smiles

As Kids Smiles continues to grow and serve more families in new communities, the impact of our clinical and educational model is significant. Since 2001, the organization has grown from one dental center with four employees and no patients of record to three locations in two cities, 60 employees, and more than 60,000 patients of record. The Education and Outreach programs have reached more than 100,000 children through in-house and outreach education lessons, while providing more than 25,000 dental screenings in our community. Kids Smiles undoubtedly provides measurable impact, but the most important results are measured on the faces of the children and families that we serve.

KS Board Hosts Event at Ballard Spahr

On February 23rd, Craig Circosta (Vice Chair), David Proctor (Chair), and Bill Burns (Treasurer) hosted a meet-and-greet at Ballard Spahr, LLP. The evening reception gave Kids Smiles the opportunity to introduce its mission and services to over 60 Philadelphia business professionals. During the program, Lorina Marshall-Blake and Sheila Hess of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation presented a $50,000 check for expanded services at our West Philadelphia dental center.  Visit our Facebook page for more photos from the event.

Grin & Share It: Saving with 6abc

Nydia Han, from "Saving with 6abc," visited our Southwest Philadelphia dental center on March 26th. Her segment focused on our newly launched "Grin & Share It" program which provides free dental care to uninsured children on the first Thursday of every month. The program enables a child to establish a “dental home” through a first visit, with any necessary follow-up care, and provides assistance to parents in finding insurance or a payment plan based on a sliding fee scale for future visits. The segment aired on April 10th. Visit Saving with 6abc to watch the video.
$20,000 Grant Awarded to KSDC

Tom's of Maine, maker of all-natural hygiene products, has awarded $20,000 to Kids Smiles through its Dental Health for All program. The goal of the program is to support community-based dental clinics that provide dental care services to people that would otherwise go without. This year, Tom's of Maine focused funding in Alabama, Kentucky, New Mexico, Mississippi, and Washington, DC, which were identified as states with the highest percentage of the population living below the poverty line in 2011 U.S. Census data. Kids Smiles is proud to accept this grant which will support community outreach through our prevention program.
