Joint Fire Science Program Manager Duties:

 
  • Manages day-to-day activities of the Joint Fire Science Program (JFSP), including the program investment strategy, operating plans, budget, contracts and agreements, science exchange activities, databases, website, and supervision of program staff.
 
  • Leads development of annual research proposal solicitations (Funding Opportunity Notices), including determination of national science and research needs and priorities, authoring research task statements, organization and conduct of peer-review for submitted proposals, and develops briefing materials and makes funding recommendations to the Governing Board.
 
  • Serves as primary liaison and support to the JFSP Governing Board, and interprets and implements the research priorities determined by the Board.
 
  • Provides leadership for development and implementation of major science initiatives, such as JFSP lines-of-work and related science plans, and leads and supports collaborative science activities with other science providers.
 
  • Serves as the primary national point-of-contact and expert on JFSP programs and priorities, and prepares and presents national reports and briefings summarizing program progress, plans, and initiatives.
