Society of Professional Journalists
Student Media is committed to providing quality professional development opportunities for our students.
This past Tuesday, the Society of Professional Journalists welcomed Sarah Fraser, DC blogger and the host of 107.3's "Sarah, Ty & Mel" for a conversation about her work and the challenges/rewards of a career in media.
SPJ Faculty Advisor, Beth Jannery, had this to say about the event:
"I sat back in awe of our incredible SPJ members during the chapter event where blogger and radio personality Sarah Fraser gave a candid talk with student journalists. I watched the officers lead and welcome members. I saw engaged members. I listened to creative, controversial and well-informed questions. I witnessed growth and success. What a stellar semester it has been. The room was filled with active listening [and] there was excitement about [our upcoming] NPR tour. The guest speaker seemed like an old friend to our SPJ members. It was a wonderful energetic evening. Long way of saying I am so proud to be SPJ's faculty advisor. This semester the chapter has truly come together."
"Bravo to all of you. Keep it up!"
