Howdy Brothers!

As we begin 2014, we hope to keep you updated with fraternity happenings. Thanks to Director Tone Phi's tireless recruitment efforts, we have doubled the number of national volunteers, increasing our ability to serve the membership. We look forward to working with you this year as there are some great things on the horizon.

Pi Alpha Phi Virtual Town Hall - January 19

The January Virtual Town Hall takes place January 19th. Chapter Presidents are required to attend and should have received an invitation via email. Other brothers are welcome. If you need dial-in information, please email nb@pialphaphi.com. If you have any burning questions or concerns, this is a good chance to be heard.

What to Do in a Crisis

The big news in the Asian Greek community last month was the Baruch Pi Delta Psi hazing death. After Michael Deng was discovered unconscious, the chapter waited over 90 minutes to get him medical attention. In these situations, mere minutes could mean the difference between life and death. If your chapter ever has a situation where someone needs medical assistance, call 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY. A human life is worth more than the potential of getting in trouble.

If you have questions about what to do during a crisis at a fraternity event, you can read our Crisis Management Plan at pialphaphi.com.

Regional Governors Appointed

As discussed last year, the fraternity has begun implementing Regional Governor positions. Please welcome: Will Yee (Northern California) Lee Heh (Southern California), and Naweed Sherzada (Southwest). We are still looking for volunteers interested in serving as Regional Governor for the Midwest, Northeast, and North Carolina regions. If you have any recommendations, please have them complete this volunteer application form at pialphaphi.com. A list of volunteer roles is also on the same page.

Chapter Alumni Advisors

Chapter Alumni Advisors are some of the fraternity's most valuable workers. These volunteers work week to week with each chapter to help the chapter achieve its full potential. Our 2014 goal is for each chapter to have a real live breathing chapter alumni advisor (not just a name on a piece of paper needed for recognition). If your chapter does not have one, please nominate alumni by emailing potential advisors to nb@pialphaphi.com.

Membership Dues Invoicing Problems

Several members have contacted us that they have received duplicate invoices or incorrect invoices through the wepay.com system. We hear you and apologize for any inconveniences. We are working to move from the wepay system to a more stable and reliable system. In the meantime, if you are experiencing problems, please notify us at treasurer@pialphaphi.com so that we can correct it.
