Dear KIPP NYC Team and Family,

As we wrap up a month of celebrations and hard work across our schools, we are grateful for your cooperation in upholding our mission and values. We continue to monitor our health and safety policies and protocols to ensure we’re aligned and up to date with what our community partners are telling us, as well as what the science says. After instituting our staff vaccine requirement regionally, 96% of our over 1,100 full- and part-time staff are fully vaccinated or have had their first dose. As part of our efforts to support our community, we will continue to provide information and offer vaccine clinics for staff, students, and families throughout the month of October. Please see full details below.

Dr. George Mensah and Dr. Jennifer Davila & Dr. Juan Tapia Mendoza Vaccine Information Sessions

Thank you to those who attended the vaccine information sessions this week. We hope you found them helpful and that you were able to have your questions answered. If you didn’t get a chance to attend, or would like to rewatch the sessions, please check out the English (Dr. Mensah) and Spanish (Dr. Davila and Dr. Tapia Mendoza) recordings.

COVID Vaccine Clinics Tomorrow (10/9) and Next Saturday (10/16)

We have partnered with the amazing Bronx Health Clinic, who provided many of our staff with the COVID vaccine, to offer the Pfizer vaccine in our school buildings in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Harlem to students aged 12+ and their family members. Please note that students must have a parent or guardian present. Anyone who is at least 12 years old may receive the vaccine, regardless of what school your student attends! Flu shots will also be available for anyone who would like to get their flu shots! Feel free to join us:

Update on P-EBT Payment Timeline

New York State’s issuance of the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) food benefit to families with children who are eligible to receive free school lunch will continue for several months. The state is still processing the information submitted by schools. If you are eligible and you have not received your P-EBT benefit by November 2021, you may fill out the P-EBT Information Form [forms.office.com].
