Dear KIPP NYC Families,
We are incredibly proud of all that our schools, teachers, and regional team are doing for our students and community, and we all want to show our sincere gratitude and let them know we see and hear them. To do so, over the next couple of months, we are rolling out a series of small and large “thank yous”. One change will be lengthening our December Winter break which will now be from Monday, December 20, 2021, until Monday, January 3, 2022 The last day of classes across KIPP NYC will be on Friday, December 17th. We want to give you, our students, and our staff additional time to relax, recharge, and care for yourselves and your families. Not only did our staff start early this year, so did your students who have been working really hard each day in school. We have heard from many of you that you value a little more time with families around the holidays.
As you know, we attempt to schedule our calendar as early as possible to ensure you can plan accordingly for your families. Throughout this extraordinary time we are filled with pride as we reflect on all the remarkable work that our KIPP NYC teams have achieved over the past three months. We were able to offer an earlier school start date for those of you who wanted your child to begin school at the beginning of August. We’re continuing to maintain a really high bar of health and safety excellence that is proving to keep our staff and students safe time and time again. And we’re meeting our students where they are academically and emotionally, to ensure we support them in learning and growing during another unique year. In hearing feedback from many of you and members of our Regional Family Advisory Council, we know you share our appreciation for our teachers!
Thank you for your continued suggestions, feedback, and support. As we approach the holiday season, we are more grateful than ever for the gift of your families in our schools and our lives.
