February 2012 MSS Newsflash 2
Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion update
Mac OS X 10.7.3 Combined Update OK. If you go to Software Update and receive an option to install the "Mac OS X Update Combined" version 10.7.3 (weighing in at around 1.34 GB), you are safe to install it. As I mentioned in the previous MSS Newsflash, there was a big problem with the smaller 10.7.3 "Delta" updater that caused enormous problems for some people. We don't know specifically what was wrong with the smaller Delta updater, but Apple seems to have removed it entirely and is now relying on the larger Combined 10.7.3 update. I have not heard reports of any significant problems with the Combined updater. Mac OS X 10.7.2 users should feel free to update to 10.7.3.
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Security Update fixed
Previous Snow Leopard security update made it impossible for Rosetta apps to save; now fixed. Apple has released version 1.1 of their latest security update. This replaces a previous security update that had problems. If you go to Software Update on your 10.6.8 Mac, and see a Security Update with a 1.1 designation, you may safely download and install it.
