Downtown Crozet Initiative (DCI) meeting
Wednesday, October 5 from Noon to 2PM at the Crozet Library

The regularly scheduled first Thursday of the month meeting (on 10/6) had to be moved to Wednesday, October 5, to accommodate Mahan Rykiel’s schedule.  Mahan Rykiel is the landscape architecture firm hired to design the plaza and surrounding area with input from Crozet residents, business owners, and other stakeholders.

The DCI Committee will meet with Mahan Rykiel, the landscape architecture firm hired to design the plaza downtown, to discuss:
* Opportunities and constraints relating to the plaza design
* Master Plan options, specifically related to road and park locations
* Preliminary design concepts

Please join the meeting to offer ideas or simply observe.
Can’t make the meeting?  Email us your ideas and suggestions to or post them to the DCI Facebook page at:

The DCI is a committee of the Crozet Community Association (CCA).

Crozet Master Plan Revision Discussion

Earlier this week Jim Duncan posted a story on his RealCrozetVA facebook page linking to a story written by Neil Williamson with the Free Enterprise Forum titled, ‘Snob Zoning’ Crozet Master Plan in the Works?

Have you had a chance to read it?  If not, take the time to read it and join the online discussion if you want.

More importantly,  make time to get informed and get involved in your community.  The Crozet Community Association is over 30 years old, because even way back in the 1980s the residents of Crozet understood that in order to maintain the kind of community they wanted live in, they had to organize and speak up to the county planning commission and Board of Supervisors.  The Crozet Community Association continues to serve that role today.   Visit our website, come to our meeting and the meetings of our committees, like the DCI on Wednesday.

ABOUT the Crozet Community Association (CCA)

The CCA was incorporated in February 1985 by a group of local Crozet residents who saw the need to work together to protect, preserve, and enhance our Crozet community and establish a forum where all are welcome.  We meet on the second Thursday of the odd-numbered months (e.g., January, March) at 7:30 PM at the Field School.   Join us!
