Feature:
LOW ODOR, LOW MIGRATION
Interest in low odor, low migration inks and coatings has been growing for quite some time. RAHN offers a range of materials that will enable you to formulate products to meet these demands.

POLYETHER / POLYESTER ACRYLATES – GENOMER* 3364, GENOMER* 3414 and GENOMER* 3497

Reactive diluents (monomers) are quite often the most volatile portion of an ink or coating formulation. This family of low viscosity oligomers allows formulators to produce low monomer or monomer free systems, thus eliminating a primary contributor to odor and migration. In addition, our polyether acrylates are toluene free, making them Prop. 65 compliant.

OLIGOAMINES – GENOMER* 5142, GENOMER* 5161, GENOMER* 5271 and GENOMER* 5275

These reactive, amino functional products can replace typical monomeric amines used as hydrogen donors with Norrish type I photoinitiators. Higher molecular weight means they are less volatile and less odor producing than their monomeric cousins. In addition, the combination of molecular weight and acrylate functionality cause them to become trapped in the polymer matrix upon curing. This results in lower migration. These products are also toluene free.

POLYMERIC PHOTOINITIATORS - GENOPOL* AB-2, GENOPOL* BP-2 and GENOPOL* TX-2

Photoinitiator selection is key when formulating low odor, low migration UV inks and coatings. The GENOPOL* products are a range of high molecular weight polymeric photoinitiators that meet the demands of low migration and odor and that have been toxicologically evaluated. GENOPOL* photoinitiators are tin free.
