Good day, members!  We hope you are enjoying your time at the pool so far – there are 61 of 101 pool days remaining so plan accordingly!  Where have those 40 days gone??!??!!?

The previously reported issue with pavilion reservations in MemberSplash has been resolved.  Thank you to everyone who reported the problem and for your patience in the resolution. You can log-in to your MS account and make a reservation for any available block of time.

Our next home swim meet is this Saturday, July 9th. The team is so excited to be back to in-person meets – come out and watch those swimming Tigers!

Our tennis team has their first match on Thursday! Rumor has it they have a really good team this year and their opponents better be ready for battle!

Please remember to clean the area when you’ve used one of the tables on the patio.  The area is often left pretty messy with spills on the tables and wrappers and napkins on the patio.  Also – please do not leave your belongings at a table with the intention of “saving” the table – they are for everyone’s use and your personal items should not be left behind.  Please share this with your children who are able to visit the pool without an adult.  Keep the patio free of your belongings as well so that the patio can be safely navigated; we had a near-fall just this weekend when someone tripped on a tennis racket left on the patio.  Things are tight as we attempt to provide adequate seating - please help us keep it passable.
Adult Night is Saturday, July 16th.  Tickets must be purchased in advance and the cost is $27.50 per person.  Tickets may be purchased at the link that follows here, Tuesday, July 12th is the last day to purchase.
The event is being catered by Joe Burke / The Take Out (Linthicum local!) and the menu will be scrumptious and includes:
          Sirloin Tips with Teriyaki Glaze
          Chesapeake Pasta
          Mixed Chicken Grill Platter
          Grilled Veggies
          Disco Pasta Salad
          Couscous Salad
          Arugula and MD Tomato Salad
This is a BYOB event and our “no glass” directive applies.  There will be a cornhole tourney with a $20 entry fee per team.  There will be a prize for the champions!  If you’d like to help with the event, can donate cornhole boards for the evening, or can assist with running the tournament, please reach out to Angie Larkin at

The Taco Bar Food Truck will be parked at the pool again on Friday July 29th – plan for a Taco Friday that week!

And finally, a few rules we’d like to highlight – some have been issues, others misunderstood, we hope this clears up any confusion.  As with all of our rules, and as allowed by the By-Laws, failure to comply or repeat offenders may risk suspension or termination of membership.

  • Andover Recreation is an alcohol-free zone except for Board approved events. We have had multiple reports of beer bottles and cans in the trash and members have been spotted by pool management pouring beer into cups. Going forward, they have been directed to ask you to remove the beverages from the facility.
  • Swimwear must be appropriate – please save the thong bathing suits for other venues. Please be sure your guests are aware as well.
  • The Tiger Tank is primarily for the use of our swim team for their practices and meets. At all other times the pool is reserved for adults and SERIOUS lap swimmers between the ages of 12-18.  Children under 12 must have a parent at the poolside while they swim laps. Parents may work with their younger non-swimmers but must be in the pool with the child. Lap swimming is one person per lane without jumping, handstanding, splashing, etc.  Failure to observe these guidelines may result in Tiger Tank use being restricted to adults only outside of swim team hours.  Diving blocks are for the exclusive use of swim team members and coaches.
  • A REMINDER that glass containers are never permitted on the premises.
  • Children who have passed their A-Test are invited to enjoy the diving board and slide but please remind them of the following:                                                                                                      - Only one person on the step or ladder of each device at a time                                              - Please wait for the person ahead of you to reach the ladder to exit the pool before you jump or slide                                                                                                                                    - Immediately swim to the ladder and exit the pool on the same side of the pool as the device used.  Do not cross in front of the other device to avoid the chance of a collision that could result in injury                                                                                                                        - Parents may not be in the well to assist their children on either device                                  - Successful A-Test is required for anyone under the age of 10 to use either device – this includes your guests as well.  The child testing must be in the lane alone - encouragement from the pool deck only!

That's it for now.  Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to read this – we hope to see you at the pool, at a swim meet, a tennis match, or one of the upcoming events!

Take care – and enjoy your summer!
