June News

Good afternoon to all!

We have a lot to share in this newsletter and we hope you will take the time to read it through.
  • If you missed our Face Book post, the swim team will hold their time trials TONIGHT (June 17th) beginning at 5pm.  They will probably have the Tiger Tank for the rest of the evening so our adult lap swimmers should try to get up there earlier to get their laps in!
  • We are changing to our out-of-school hours one week early; beginning Monday, June 20th, the pool will be opened from 10am-9pm Monday – Friday with our normal Sunday hours of 12noon-9pm.  We extend our thanks to Ace Aquatics for some clever schedule magic that made this happen!
  • AA County returns to school on August 29th this year so for that week, Monday-Friday hours will be 4pm – 9pm.  Saturday and Sunday hours will be unchanged and Labor Day will be 10am-9pm.
  • Beginning Monday, June 27th swim team practice will change to their summer hours.   They will have full use of the Tiger Tank Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 11:45am, and again in the evening from 5:30pm-7:30pm.  Please plan your lap swimming around those hours.
  • Speaking of our Swim Team – we wanted to remind everyone that the dates of our home meets are July 2nd, July 9th, and July 16th.  Come cheer on our Tigers in the Tank!
  • On Wednesdays there will be ADULT (18+) pick-up basketball for anyone who wants to play.  Start time is 6:30pm and we’ll run until the last one falls – or until we can’t see the ball!  Games will be full- or half-court depending on the number of players.  It’s always a lot of fun – we hope you’ll join us!
  • SAFETY REMINDER:  Our children who are non-swimmers and need device support in the pool may only use US Coast Guard approved safety devices.  Blow-up water wings, tubes, tube seats and rafts are not to be used.  Additionally, non-swimmers should be accompanied by an adult who is within arm’s reach at all times when in the water.
  • A reminder to all that smoking on the premises must be at least 100 feet from any fence or entrance to the facility.  Please do not leave cigarettes or remnants on the grounds.  Fair warning:  the Board voted on Tuesday to become smoke free everywhere in and around the facility, effective May 2023.
  • We’ve had a few issues with respect to Tennis Baseball on the upper field so all games must be moved to the field down below.  The guards will ask anyone not complying to move the game down.
  • Last Day of School – The Taco Bar Food Truck will be at the pool on Friday, June 24th from 5pm-8pm.  Come have dinner and we have a Tiger Cafe treat for all the kids to celebrate the end of the school year!  Adults, it's also a BYOB evening but please - NO GLASS CONTAINERS.

Thank you for keeping the pool a fun and safe place to be all summer long!  If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to andoverrec@aol.com.
