Discourses of Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar
 From “Geo-Sentiment (Discourse 3)”
 The Liberation of Intellect: Neohumanism

The Greatest Threat to Humanity’s Inner Asset
Now let us see what the impact of geo-sentiment is. This geo-religion, geo-economics, geo-sociology, geo-social sentiment – these “geo’s” are limited to a particular country or a particular direction. And those countries or directions which are beyond its confines are considered profane. To one group, judging according to this so-called holiness or profanity, the east is sacred, while to another group the west is sacred. Thus conflicts arise between these contradictory sentiments, leading to war and bloodshed. People have forgotten the fundamental spirit of humanism, and deviated from the principles of dharma.

Pumpkin Granola Recipe

Granola has become one of the most touted of healthy breakfast cereals and it has grown straight out of its roots in the hippie whole grain oat-nut-and-seed kitchen of the 1960s. The name granola is a take on granula, a toasted wheat cereal touted by whole grain movement of Sylvester Graham in the 1900s. Since it is tremendously versatile, it takes to all sorts of additions and variations on the basic recipe. Whenever you think of making homemade granola, you probably think of large vats and baking in the oven for up to an hour. But a small batch is fine to make as well (or you can double or triple the recipe). I buy fresh rolled oats out of the bulk section, which smells delightfully grain-sweet. Do not use quick- or instant-cooking oats; you want the real thing. . (Read More)

Ananda Sutram

1-4 Paramashivah Purus'ottamah vishvasya kendram.

Supreme Consciousness at the nucleus of the universe is known as Paramashiva or Purus'ottama.

Purport: The trivalent Prakrti has been apparently crudifying the original Purus'a through Her own binding forces – this is one of the processes of Her activity. Her other process being that by gradually relaxing the influence of Her three attributes on the crude object, She regains the characteristic of Purus'a, thus putting an end to Her binding operation. The first-named process of Prakrti is centrifugal and the other one is centripetal. The Brahma Cakra, or Srs't'i Cakra [Cosmic Cycle], is manifested through the combination of these very centrifugal and centripetal actions. The nucleus of this Cosmic Cycle is indeed the svabha'va [characteristic bearing] of Purus'a. The material cause of the entire Brahma Cakra is Purus'a, or Shiva, and we shall call this nucleus Paramashiva or Purus'ottama.

The binding principle, in varying stages, is something sentient, sometimes mutative, and sometimes static. The essence in the flow of creation has been called devatá by the rśis. The binding principle which produces diversities and multiplicities is the Immanent Power, the triple-principled Prakrti. This flow of creation, the expression of energy and the vibrations of the thought world, are moving around the Macrocosmic Nucleus, Puruśottama, who is free from bondage, yet controls all those in bondage. This vast cycle of creation is termed Brahma Cakra. The rśi says that Brahma Cakra revolves due to the exalted glory of the Supreme Entity.

My Companion told me He would return
and then left.
But He did not return till today.

With jingling lyre strings,
He told me to abandon the crooked path
and search for the straight path.

Yet, I wandered about endlessly
forgetting the Supreme Desideratum.
I did not move on that illuminated straight path
in the first place.
Attachments prompted and pulled me.
I forgot the essence of the instruction conveyed to me
to search the truth.

Today light shines forth from all sides
telling me to closely remain on the right path.
