Namaskar to all,
I've always wished that Margis could see Ananda Kanan in the springtime, when the air is cool and the grass is green and everything is growing. Looks like this year I get my wish.

Our summer retreat at Ananda Kanan will be June 3-9, a month earlier than usual. The theme is "sustainability."

Of course, this word means many things to many people. We want to focus on the master unit, the practical embodiment of Baba's ideology. How will we sustain the mission through the coming years of change and upheaval? That's where places like Ananda Kanan come in. Baba's vision for a master unit includes everything that is necessary for a community to live and grow: physically, mentally and spiritually.

It is meant to be an ideological oasis, a model for how people can live cooperatively, sustained by a common spiritual goal. As always at a sectorial retreat, there will be lots of kiirtan and sadhana, Baba stories and cultural programs to give us inspiration. We'll also take a good look at ways we can really begin to build our dream for a better society, right here in our own back yard. I hope you will join us, and bring some friends with you.

We are making a big effort to create programs friendly and informative for people new to Ananda Marga. In 2012 the Mayan calendar is ending, and the Sadvipra Samaj calendar is just beginning. See you here!

Indian Spiced Roasted Potatoes

Everyone loves potatoes. And spring is the time for medium sized red, white, and yellow Yukon Gold new potatoes. These intensely flavored potatoes are so delicious you almost don’t want to serve anything else with them. The coating of spices turns into a crisp layer once the potatoes are cooked. The addition of sea salt and lime for serving adds a wonderful salty tang to the heat and spice, making it impossible to eat just one.

O Lord, come to my home today!
I have threaded a garland
and decorated my house for You.
O my most beloved one,
come with a smiling face!

I have nothing to declare as my own.
Whatever belongs to me, that too, I want to forget.
O incomparable Lord, I beseech You,
accept those (belongings).

Whatever I was considering as my own,
that was delusion, I did not understand.
Now my mistake is rectified,
and reality has become known.
Now accept me and make me Your own,
O ever enchanting one!
