The PurusÌottama is the nucleus of the Universe, the centre of the Universe, just as the Sun is the centre of this solar system. Similarly PurusÌottama – the Parama PurusÌa is the centre of this entire cosmos. Just as so many planets directly and so many planets indirectly are moving around the Sun knowingly or unknowingly, similarly, so many animate and inanimate objects are moving around the Parama PurusÌa knowingly or unknowingly. They will have to. There is no other alternative.(READ FULL ARTICLE)
“A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental†construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual.†– R.C. Henry, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University , “The Mental Universe†; Nature 436:29,2005)(source)

Join Jagat Bandhu, Liilamaya and friends for an inspiring weekend focused on the practice of Kirtan and Meditation. For those new to Kirtan, it can be described as a collective meditation done through music, mantra and dance. This retreat will be special in that it will focus on the mantra ‘Baba Nam Kevalam’ which means ‘Only The Beloved’. Part of the practice of Tantra Yoga is to make the mind one pointed on a particular point. It is in the spirit of this tantric practice that this weekend has been designed. By singing ‘Baba Nam Kevalam’ collectively and also ideating individually on the meaning of the mantra, a powerful vibration is created that will allow participants to go deep into that feeling of Divine Love.

Dada Vimaleshananda has arrived to the Bay Area and he will be staying at Los Altos Hills Jagrti. Biking near San Francisco he approached a young person for directions. "Are you a yogi?" he was asked. The person offered a friendly hug as a token of friendship and a few directions. For Dada it was a very relieving experience to be recognized not only for the dress or the religion but also for the style of life.
Dada Muktatmananda is busy with the Food Distribution in Los Angeles which has been growing steady in number of people served almost everyday. Dada is now building a new shed for storing the food and in the middle of the relief activities he has not stopped composing beautiful poems like the one below:
A single thought sends a spark down this living road,
and a pulse quickens down this braiding stream;
In the heart a sentiment arises
just a hair spring weights it toward good or bad.
A light lever opens or shuts a door, to this tiny bottled up world of a human being.
Hail to you, who keep nobody out!
Who's love is above and beyond all sentiments.
Fear trembles before you,
and love can't escape your gravitational field,
I salute thee with all my heart!

I recently came across a great technique to help busy people get things done. In the book “Juicy Pens Thirsty Paper†bestselling author Sarkpresents the idea of working in “micro movementsâ€.
Whilst her book is aimed at people who want to write a book, you can use this technique to help you complete any project in a fun and creative way.
What is a micro movement?
It’s a little action step performed at a certain time and day that brings you one step closer to accomplishing your goal. It should take you between 5 seconds and 5 minutes to do. (READ FULL ARTICLE)

Dan Harris explains the neuroscience behind meditation, but reminds us that the ancient practice isn't magic and likely won't send one floating into the cosmic ooze. He predicts that the exercise will soon become regularly scheduled maintenance, as commonplace as brushing your teeth or eating your veggies.
Rajma - Red kidney beans
Recipe by Bhaeravii
If there is a dish that characterizes bean cooking in a pressure cooker, it is Rajma, or rajma chawal, red kidney beans in a thick gravy with whole Indian spices served with rice. Rajma is the name of the dish as well as the name of the bean. While the kidney bean is not of Indian origin (it traveled from Guatemala and Central Mexico), it is an integral part of the Indian vegetarian diet. It is made for special occasions as well as an everyday comfort food, school lunch, and restaurant fare all over India, but considered a North Indian specialty, as the red kidney bean is easily available, cheap, and easy to cook. Many Indians have fond memories of Rajma chawal for Sunday lunch.

This blue lake is singing, the lotus and lily smile overwhelmingly. Without seeing who comes and who goes, the mind rushes only towards Him. How many storms blew off with lightning, meteorites showed many glimpses of light. How many comets came waving their tails, by nothing coming and going was possible. Innumerable days and eras passed off. But the heart remained full of honey. Many bees came and continued singing but the honey did not dry up.
