Ananda Marga collective meditation is generally followed by a mental offering. The last line of the mantra which is recited is called "Prańáma Mantra". The following is an excerpt from the explaination given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti during a discourse given in Patna on 5 October 1978 published in: Ánanda Vacanámrtam Part 3

The Prańáma Mantra is “Tava dravyaḿ Jagatguro tubhyameva samarpaye.”

“Tava” means “Your”. “Dravyaḿ” means “that which takes a definite form”. The spiritual aspirant
says, “Tava dravyaḿ Jagatguro Tubhyameva samarpaye” – “Your article is being offered to You, is being offered at Your altar.” Why “Tava dravyaḿ”? Suppose a spiritual aspirant has a red flower and is offering it. Why should he say, “Tava dravyaḿ”? The dravyaḿ is being offered by the aspirant, so why “Tava”, “Your”? It is His because in this universe of ours human beings cannot create the original stuff. They have not got the dexterity to create something original. They can create physical mixtures and chemical compounds, but not the original stuff.

Dear sisters and brothers,
Namaskar.

First came the greatest earthquake that any of us had ever experienced.

Our relief work was still going on for the survivors, when only 3 weeks after the quake, came super typhoon Yolanda, or as known elsewhere hurricane Haiyan.

This one was said to be the strongest hurricane in world history. (READ MORE)

Didi had 2 classes in the school with 200 ppl (between students and parents) in each class.
Then the day after she had a class at Colegio Mount Rushmore with small kids (between 11 and 4 years old) (130 students in total), and another with bigger students (like 15-17 yo) con 115 students in total.
She had a public Conference in Istituto Haller with 120 ppl and she initiated a total of 16 sisters in Tepotzotlán.

Then in Morelia she had 4 more initiations, a class at the Rehab center where Purus'ottama works and a social service activity with the help of Jyoti; thanks to the help of Jyoti, a church in a poor area south of Morelia, can guarantee 3 times a week breakfast to poor kids. Didi participated to the first breakfast service of the church. The breakfast was completely vegetarian and Jyoti gave a class on how to use soya beans to do soya milk and then utilize the left over part to do tacos and delicious meals.
They are planning to have a daily service of breakfast and to cover 100 kids.
Dada Divyalokeshananda gave a public lecture at cultural centre of Cuernavaca/Mexico. The topic was: mental and physical health through practical yoga. 30 persons attended.

Twice weekly Dada has been running a philosophy class consistently and without fail for the last five weeks with up to 12 persons attending. The class is for two to two and a half hours each time. From that and pracar outdoors he got 8 initiations of whom 5 were already vegetarians from either birth or decades of years ago.
Dada Vimaleshananda reached Mexico after touring in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala visiting units and projects of Ananda Marga. Committed to Dharma Pracar he is now in Campeche where he initiated two brothers among a group of socially motivated young people. In the image he is with few of them cleaning up a small park which is not well cared by the public services.
AMURT FUNDRAISER FOR THE HOMELESS IN LOS ANGELES

Human life is purposeful, precious
and best;
For all those who lost this sense,
the idea and all the rest,
for circumstances clouded vision,
confusion,agony;
Be gladly reminded,
the essence in each one of us
is the very one, engaged
in creating this Universe.
Nothing is definitive,
everything is being molded yet!
The very mind goes through many
orbits and cycles before it's finally set.
Be joyful and wage your sure bet!

Dada Muktatmananda

"We are engaged in an effort to improve the physical and emotional conditions of the people below the poverty line and above all those who have absolutely nothing, by making them feel we care."
On the road to Ananda Dhiira in California ...the new Master Unit vehicle dubbed the white lotus...generously donated by Dalpat's and Nirmala's granddaughter.
O Lotus, I came up like a thorn in your stem. With momentum, the flood came down, intoxicating me with strong upsurge of emotions. I was down in the pond, amidst muddy water. By holding you on the head, I forgot all pains. In life numerous blows and counter blows come. In order that You are not torn, I keep You lifted upwards.

O unknown traveler,
symbol of love,
You have brought light on this earth.
It is difficult to recognise You.

O eternal guest,
Lord of all stars,
You have poured nectar on this earth.
You taught karmayoga,
the yoga of action;
even the pendulum swings by action.
The distinction between own and alien
is forgotten in the totality of desire for action.

The physical and psychic arenas
are sustained by the yoga of knowledge,
and their darkness is removed by the light of knowledge.
Attainment of real knowledge
is the fulfillment of devotion
that You have taught us.

Recipe of the Month
by Bhaeravii

Fresh Almond Milk

More and more people are making their own almond milk, even thought it is available commercially. It is not only nutritous but incredibly delicious. To take your morning and evening shakes to the next level, use almond, rice, or hemp milk as a good alternative to dairy and soy based milks. Here is the basic recipe to make your own almond milk.

  • 1 cup whole raw almonds
  • water
Soak the raw almonds in the 2 cups of cool water for 2-8 hours on the counter at room temperature. (It's easiest to let them soak overnight so they're ready for your morning shake). Strain off the soaking water by pouring through a mesh strainer, rinse well, then add to blender with 3 cups of fresh water. Blend for 45 seconds, until the almonds are broken down into a mush.

Strain the thick liquid though a fine mesh strainer. (Save the pulp for other uses or discard.)

Store both pulp and milk in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
"Whoever wants to know me physically has to do my mission, whoever wants to know me mentally has to study my philosophy, and whoever wants to know me spiritually has to practice meditation ". Victory will be yours. Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

"El que quiera conocerme fisicamente que haga Mi Misión, el que desee conocerme mentalmente que estudie mi filosofía, y el que desee conocerme espirtualmente que practique meditación". La victoria será tuya. Shrii Shrii Anandamurti
