The Season of Lent at IBC

Lent is an invitation to follow Jesus closely as we enter a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal. The season is an opportunity to meet Jesus in our brokenness, driving us toward the love of God and reminding us that Jesus shares in our pain.

We were not created to live in isolation, alone, or feeling caged. We were made for freedom. But so many of us don’t find ourselves free—we find ourselves stuck, trapped in patterns that lead to pain and isolation.

Spring is a time of light with longer days and warmer weather, and winter passes bringing new life. Like spring, during the Lenten season, we can reflect on the good news, that in Jesus we can be set free and believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus.

So today, on Ash Wednesday, choose to live in freedom. Don’t settle for deathly captivity. Choose to live free and continue to choose to live free everyday.

Today, March 6 at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center

Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, is a time for somber reflection and repentance. Join us for our Ash Wednesday Service on March 6, where we begin the Lent journey as a family.  Learn more »
