Kayla participated in Foundation in the Fall of 2018. Here’s how she describes her Foundation experience:
“Before Foundation I had been in church my entire life, but never truly understood what it meant to have a deep relationship with God. During Foundation, God has shown me what it means to live a life of faith. Foundation helped me create a habit of filling my day with Jesus by beginning and ending my day spending time with the Lord. I’ve learned the importance of community and accountability. I’ve learned worship can be a daily task, prayer is a powerful act, and that I am truly weak, and he is strong. I’ve learned that God has forgiven me for my sins so I can also forgive myself.

God has taught me that vulnerability is a means of power. I’ve learned that God does not promise a life without pain, but I can lean on him during dark times and trust his timing. I’ve learned how compassionate and gentle God is. God has shown me that my past is not an embarrassment or an abundance of repeated mistakes and sins, but a powerful story that shows the true transforming power of God. By sharing my story, it could inspire someone else to start writing theirs. My prayer for the future is to continue allowing God to work through me to make me more like Jesus. That through my story, I will be able to show others the true freedom that God can give you.”
Because she has experienced God’s transformation in her life, Kayla wants to be part of seeing transformation happen in the lives of others. She’s taking another step in her discipleship journey by leading a Foundation group this Spring, and she looks forward to seeing how God will use her to help others walk more closely with Jesus.
