"Walk With Me" features guided walks through downtown Courtenay, while participants listen through sanitized wireless headphones to the stories of people who have lived experience with the overdose crisis. The final two walks take place Saturday, Nov. 21. Photo by Kyle Little

We are gearing up for the final weekend of events for WALK WITH ME: uncovering the human dimensions of the overdose crisis. See below for details on the weekend of walks, talks, videos and ceremony.

After Saturday's events, the Gallery and Shop:Made will close from Nov. 22 to Dec 3 while we paint, prepare, and install our winter program, SPACE BETWEEN US. Read below for details.

Starting Dec. 3, the Gallery and Shop will be open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. We will also be open on Dec. 22 and 23.

We made the difficult decision to not host our annual Winter Art Market this year -- a tradition since 1974. We faced too many challenges in light of COVID-19, but stay tuned for other events and special opening times to mark the holiday season.

All the best. Stay healthy and safe,

-The CVAG team

We are pleased that Guy Felicella will be joining us for this final weekend. Guy grew up in a middle class home in Richmond but fell into addiction at a young age. He spent 30 years in the repeated cycle of gangs, addiction, treatment and jail. He spent nearly 20 years residing in the two block radius in the Downtown Eastside and using many resources, including harm reduction, to keep himself alive.

Today, Guy has escaped the grips of the turmoil that kept him suffering and resides with his wife and three young children with multiple years of recovery and sobriety under his belt. He is passionate about advocating for the vulnerable people who still suffer in addiction and educating communities on harm reduction. Currently Guy works for Vancouver Coastal Health, Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction and the BC Centre on Substance Use.
