COMMUNITY MAKE ART PROJECTS
2 - 6pm, every Wednesday on CVAG Plaza
Friends,

We continue to offer drop-in Community Make Art Projects on the CVAG plaza every Wednesday from 2 - 6pm throughout the summer. Everyone is welcome! Participation is free, with donations gratefully accepted.

For the Make Art Project on August 3 (tomorrow), there will be art-making stations for various drawing and writing activities, and Wachiay Studio will be doing live screen printing!

Screen-printing can be done on your personal clothing items, paper stock (provided for free), and t-shirts that can be purchased onsite ($5 for child t-shirts and $7 for adult t-shirts). There is no cost for the screen-printing itself!

While you're downtown, you can also visit the Courtenay Farmers' Market on Duncan Avenue, right in front of the Gallery from 3 - 6pm.

SUMMER PROGRAMMING: AN INTEREST IN PLACE
CVAG Hours: 10am - 6pm, Wednesdays to Saturdays
As part of the convergent program An Interest in Place, the exhibition Marlene Creates: Works from Blast Hole Pond Road, Newfoundland / Œuvres réalisées au chemin Blast Hole Pond, Terre-Neuve 2002–2021 runs at CVAG until September 10. Admission is free, with donations are gratefully accepted.

For over 40 years, Marlene Creates (pronounced "Kreets") has has been creating art and poetry as an exploration of human experience, memory, language, the land, and the impact they have on each other. Since 2002, her work has been intimately focused on the 6 acres of boreal forest where she lives in a 'relational aesthetic' to the land.

CVAG's Summer 2022 Community Make Art Projects (2 - 6pm, Wednesdays) are an invitation to engage with the gallery's place-based programming through explorations, observations, and conversations that are seen in Marlene Creates' exhibition.
