For day 18 of your Community Bible Experience, you'll read pages 197-210 from Ephesians and Philemon.
Dear <<First name>>,

Sometimes we forget just how revolutionary Christianity was in the first century. Today's reading includes two powerful examples of the early church challenging the status quo.

In Ephesians, Paul picks up a theme from Galatians, insisting that Christ breaks down barriers of class and ethnicity. In Philemon, he implores a friend to welcome his runaway slave "no longer as a slave, but... as a dear brother."

Both ideas had the potential to turn the Roman world upside down.

Today we'll read pages 197-210 from Ephesians and Philemon.
Read until the end of Philemon.

Happy reading,

The Community Bible Experience team
