April Update

We've been waiting to announce an exciting new project to our network, and here it is - we are delivering the very first NHS Collaboration Conference, MediWales Connects, on 6th July 2016. Joining a packed upcoming events schedule, the conference will offer excellent opportunities for our members to develop key connections within the life science community. Read about our upcoming events, training and member news below.

MediWales Connects
NHS Collaboration Conference

The first event of its kind for the health and care community, MediWales Connects is an all Wales NHS collaboration conference celebrating clinical progress and innovation on 6th July 2016. The event brings together NHS colleagues and clinical teams from across Wales, local companies and the wider industry sector to share clinical innovation in practice to improve patient outcomes.

The keynote address comes from Andrew Goodall, Director General of Department for Health and Social Services and Chief Executive of NHS Wales. The event includes workshops, CPD training seminars and an exhibition.

There are lots of opportunities to get involved. Please contact Isabelle for information. Click here for the flyer.

LifeScience Academy

Our activity reflects the interests of our community, and we react to your needs and views. One key point that has been raised is a need to develop better training and skills for future and existing employees, so we are launching the LifeScience Academy, which runs through two streams: professional development and skills training; and student and graduate recruitment.

Our first LifeScience Academy: Placement Exchange event takes place on 19th May 2016 for University departments and companies to meet and discuss student and graduate placements.

The academy continues with a key IP workshop taking place on 24th May 2016. Innovation Leads – The Essential Guide to an Effective Patent Strategy, delivered by Abel & Imray, teaches you what you need to know in an innovative organisation about protecting and developing your IP.
