Welcome to our newest MediWales members:

The North Wales Organisation for Randomised Trials in Health and Social Care (NWORTH), the Bangor Clinical Trials Unit, specialises in the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of clinical trials and other health related research. Their mission is to improve health and well being by evaluating complex interventions in health and social care.
The West of England Academic Health Science Network is a vibrant and diverse network of partners (providers of NHS care working with universities, industry, NHS commissioners and a wide range of other organisations) working to put innovation at the heart of healthcare, to improve patient outcomes and contribute to wealth creation.

Members of the Month

This month, we want to celebrate our two special members, Martindale Pharma and Medical Connections.

Martindale Pharma was established 140 years ago and has maintained focus on supplying medicines in areas of high unmet need. Over the last 3 years the business has been transformed by investment and expertise into an international Specialty Pharma company which operates in areas of medicine where demand is increasing and where healthcare systems in both developed and developing markets will fund medicines. The organisation has expanded to include the wound care division, as well as critical care.

Medical Connections Ltd is a small, innovative medical imaging software and consultancy company, created with the aim of making medical image and record integration simpler, faster, cheaper and more reliable. Established and managed by Dr David Harvey, a radiologist, as a result, both requirements and development are seen from the end-user’s perspective, providing solutions tailored to the real clinical environment.

Expert Advice

This month, we get our expert advice from Denise Roberts at Broomfield & Alexander. The piece looks into the issues arising from the rules surrounding cross border transactions, and the pitfalls for technology companies expanding overseas. To view the full article, click here.
