Quilts: The Ultimate Gift From the Heart

It’s February and that means two things: Valentine’s Day AND the 2021 Kaua’i Quilt Show!

And really, it makes sense that the Quilt Show would fall at the same time as the holiday that celebrates love. There is so much time, energy, hard work, and pure love that goes into making a quilt. It is truly a great endeavor and the result of long hours of trial and error, learning and success.

To give someone the gift of a quilt, whether made by yourself or made by someone else, is to give a gift that says, “You are a person worthy of so much effort and care.” A true gift of love, indeed.

Vicky’s Fabrics is pleased to announce that this year’s Kaua’i Quilt Show will be held February 12-24 from 10:00am to 6:00pm daily (Friday’s till 8:00pm!) at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center.

Admission is always free to view the 70+ quilts for display and sale! And don’t forget to vote for your favorite for the “Viewers Choice” Award!

The deadline to turn in your submissions for the mini-quilt contest is Monday, February 8! We’re just loving all the creative and wonderful entires that have come in so far, and we can’t wait to see what other fun things our community comes up with. The mini-quilts will be on display for the 2021 Kaua’i Quilt Show!

Meet Lea Ingram!
A long time resident of Kaua'i and the Hawaiian Islands, I now work at Vicky's Fabrics part-time.  I spend the rest of my time quilting for customers on a long arm quilting machine, or creating my artwork that I have made into cards and prints (I sell my cards at Vicky's Fabrics).

I started to sew by hand when I was 3 years old and was confined to my bed for a year.  Mom taught me to make my own doll clothes!  When I was old enough to stand and reach the foot pedal of her sewing machine, she taught me to make my own clothes.  I did not take up quilting until I was much older, but I have always loved creating things with fabric.

I love working at Vicky's.  For me, it is like being a kid in a candy store.....as Toni says....the happiest place on earth!!!  Not only do I get to feel and touch all that beautiful fabric, but, the feeling of being surrounded by the caring people who work there and make me feel like part of the family warms my heart!
