Do You Feel Lucky?

Because we sure do here at Vicky’s Fabrics! It’s March which means it’s time to start looking at the end of the rainbow for a pot of gold! (Although we’d be just as happy with a pot with filled sewing notions!)

However, you don’t need a four leaf clover to feel lucky with all of the exciting things happening in the shop...between Block of the Month, exciting new classes, and all the recent excitement from the 2021 Kaua’i Quilt show, it’s more true than ever that there are just SEW Many Possibilities!
NEW CLASS ANNOUNCEMENT!

We are constantly learning and growing at Vicky’s Fabrics! We have SEW much to offer when it comes to quilting and garment classes and materials, and now we are pleased to announce something new to the shop...Hand Embroidery classes! On the first Thursday of the month our embroidery specialist, Betsey of Betseybrite Designs, is hosting Embroidery Club! Learn fun techniques and stitches that will add a little something special to your quilt, garment, or bag creations! And don’t forget to check out the Crazy Quilt 2-part class offered by the combination team of Toni and Betsey! This class in April will explore Crazy Quilt Block construction, as well as how to add hand embroidery details for the ultimate Crazy Quilt experience! Register on the website, by phone, or in the shop!
Women of the Arts Hawaii has honored Barbara Green, designer, seamstress, and garment class teacher extraordinaire, as their first WOAH Wahine of the Week! Here she is in the GORGEOUS holokū she recently completed...isn’t it stunning?! Be sure to check out the Instagram live interview with Barbara that the  Women of the Arts Hawaii is hosting on March 11 to hear all about the creation of, and the “why” behind this incredible creation!
Talk Story Time!

There is almost nothing we love more than when people bring their sewing creations -made from skills and materials from the shop- to show n’ tell at the shop! However, since there are SEW many friends of Vicky’s around the world, we wanted a way to share with everyone! We have been highlighting staff members in the newsletter but we want to celebrate YOU!
Have you made something you’re proud to share? Do you have a fun story about the shop, or something you created that you want to tell? We are looking for stories and pictures to share in our newsletter, or on our social media! Please email info@vickysfabrics.com to submit your stories and pictures, or for any questions!
Meet the Staff at Vicky’s!

Betsey first learned to sew sitting next to her grandma and sewing doll clothes growing up. And while there isn’t a craft she doesn’t like to dabble in, embroidery and bag making have her heart. However, she did enter her first quilt into the Quilt Show this year, and we think she could be convinced to make more😉
Pre-pandemic, Betsey was a mental health therapist, however managing the schedule with her children’s schooling changes gave her the push she needed to focus on her small business, Betseybrite Designs.
Betsey came to Vicky’s last year to hone her sewing machine skills in sewing classes, and basically just hasn’t left!
Starting in March she will be teaching some super fun hand-embroidery classes, as well as teaming up with Toni to offer a Crazy Quilt Block class...we can’t wait to see what they come up with together!
You can visit Betsey 3 times a week at Vicky’s where she will greet you with a big smile (even though you might not see it under her mask😂)
