Get Online Week 2013

Over 100.000 Europeans participated at the campaign

Thousands of Europeans were digitally empowered during the Get Online Week campaign of Telecentre-Europe. Between 18 and 24 March 2013, more than 10.000 ICT learning centres, libraries & schools in 26 countries supported over 100.000 people in their online journeys.

The Get Online Week 2013 mini-survey counter stopped at 99.051, but this doesn’t tell the whole story of this year's campaign. Another 10.000 people took the self-assessment test Skillage and thousands of ‘Get Onliners’ were captured by other applications in countries like Denmark, Netherlands and Germany.

Telecentre-Europe aisbl recruits a Communications Officer

The Communications Officer is responsible for communications towards Telecentre-Europe stakeholders and members, the mass media and general public.

S/he will increase the visibility of telecentres mission, activities and contribution to the digital inclusion and empowerment of European citizens and to the achievement of social and economic goals.

#Spark13 - 4th Global Forum on Telecentres

Registrations now open!

Hosted by Telecentre.org Foundation, Telecentre-Europe, Comunidad de Redes de Telecentros, Red Guadalinfo, and the National Information Society Agency of Korea, the upcoming 4th Global Forum on Telecentres, also known as Spark, will take place from May 28-29, 2013 in Granada, Spain.

Spark will bring together leading information and communication technology for development (ICT4D) and telecentre stakeholders to learn from each other, build strategic partnerships, explore opportunities, and develop solutions and services to extend the full benefits of ICT to underserved communities and individuals everywhere.

Free exam vouchers

Become TE's National Microsoft Technology Associate partner!

Telecentre-Europe invites its member organizations to become the national partner for distributing a total of 2.000 donated vouchers for young people to take a free Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification exam.

MTA is an entry-level certification that helps people to explore ICT as a career choice and validates essential technology knowledge (based on Microsoft products), needed to start building a career in Microsoft technologies.

Applicants have to register individually for the vouchers online. Once the applicant has been selected upon the eligibility criteria listed on the applicant page, the national MTA partner will receive the voucher to be redeemed by the applicant.

CARER+ Digital Competence Framework to be presented at EDEN 2014 Annual Conference

CARER+: developing digital competences of care workers

The Carer+ Digital Competence Framework adopts the modern notion of digital competence understood both as a key competence for employability and a comprehensive life skill.

As a result of a 1 year research, the project consortium presents the Competence Framework at the EDEN 2013 Annual Conference on 12-15 June 2013 in Oslo, Norway.
