Telecentre-Europe Summit 2012

Under the title "Jobs for youth and ageing online", the fifth Telecentre-Europe Summit will take place in Warsaw, Poland during 17-18 October 2012 and will bring together an invited audience of 100 telecentre network leaders from across Europe, along with stakeholders and supporters.
Mark your attendence at the Summit! Register online before August 31th 2012!
The main themes of the event will focus on how telecentres impact youth and older people, by providing the right eSkills, by the use of social media and by encouraging social innovation, towards better jobs and an improved quality of life.

Telecentre-Europe Awards 2012

This year, the Telecentre-Europe Awards competition is open only to Telecentre-Europe’s official Member Organizations and will recognize Telecentre-Europe’s three Most Outstanding Members, who will be honored at the Awards Ceremony during the Telecentre-Europe Summit 2012, taking place on October 17th in Warsaw, Poland.

The Award Winners will receive a prize that contains cash awards: of 1.200 EUR, 1.000 EUR & 800 EUR.

BOARD ELECTIONS

On October 16, preceding Telecentre-Europe’s Summit in Warsaw, Telecentre-Europe AISBL’s annual General Assembly will be held. This year, a new Managing Board will be elected.

Only Telecentre-Europe AISBL’s official Member Organizations can nominate a candidate to represent their organization at the Board.

NEW MEMBER FROM POLAND:
CITIES ON INTERNET ASSOCIATION

On September 19, Cities On Internet Association (COI) joined Telecentre-Europe AISBL as an official member organization. This Polish nongovernmental organization is tasked with bridging the gap between public entities, IT companies and the research community, and is focused on digital literacy, e-government, e-inclusion, the Information Society and the knowledge-based economy.

Since 2011, COI also coordinates the National Digital Literacy Programme, the largest endeavor of its kind in Europe, ultimately targeting 60.000 adults.

ICT PROPOSERS' DAY

Representatives of Telecentre-Europe will participate at the ICT Proposers Day 2012 that is taking place in Warsaw on 26-27 September 2012.

The event is organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG Connect) and is dedicated to networking & first-hand information on the upcoming call for proposals in the field of the ICT Work Programme 2013 of European ICT Research & Development.

SPANISH EXPERT MEETING ON
DIGITAL COMPETENCES

The Spanish Association of the Community of Telecentre Networks and Social Innovation Centers, member of Telecentre-Europe AISBL, organized an expert meeting on the Certification for Digital Competences in Spain under the Digital Agenda of Europe that took place in Barcelona on September 21-22.

STUDY VISIT IN MOLDOVA

Between 17-21 September a Study Visit took place in Moldova, in which 15 telecentre leaders from 4 Telecentre-Europe member organizations participated.

Experts from EOS Foundation (Romania), LIKTA (Latvia), Alliance of Access to Information and Training Community Centres (Moldova) and International Aid Network (Serbia), came together and shared information about community digital inclusion through telecentre services.

On September 12, Telecentre-Europe’s member Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association (LIKTA) co-organized the Digital Agenda for Europe Going Local event that focused national attention on the Digital Agenda and its importance for economic growth, job creation and social inclusion among members of EU.
