Telecentre Europe is looking for CEO!

Following a major strategy review Telecentre Europe is embarking on a path to become the major voice of e-Inclusion Intermediary Actors to promote and provide digital training to all disadvantaged citizens, close the skills gap and build a united smart, sustainable and inclusive society. Therefore, we are currently looking for a new director (Chief Executive Officer) to lead the organisation towards this vision.

Help us make our conference cool!

Telecentre Europe Annual Conference is the annual meeting point for all non-profit and non-governmental organisations interested in digital empowerment through digital skills and technology. This year the conference under the theme “Digital skills for future work” will take place in Ghent, Belgium, on 6-8 October co-organised with Digipolis Ghent. 
As we're looking to make the event even more interactive and inspiring, we ask our members to suggest topics, speakers or formats. After all, it's the event about you and for you!

I-LINC Monitor 2015: Policies on digital inclusion and skills

This edition of the I-LINC Monitor presents an overview of important policies in 2015 focusing on the topics of digital inclusion and skills. Latest stats confirm that 18% of the EU population has still never used the internet. That's about 100 million Europeans! So what is EU strategy?

FIT4Jobs: Final partners' meeting in Dublin

The FIT4JOBS partners’ team met in Dublin last month to discuss the final position in the European Commission funded project to propagate the FIT (Ireland) training for employment model. The training was specifically targeted at unemployed young people seeking to enter the work place with in-demand ICT skills. All 5 partners report great results and it is already clear that the goal of 75% progression into jobs was met.

e-UROPA project featured as a good practice

Telecentre Europe's Enabling European e-Participation ( project has been featured in the latest Lifelong Learning Platform's position paper. Among 21 good practices, Telecentre Europe's project on e-Participation is listed as a good practice in education to foster intercultural understanding and solidarity in Europe.

Training resources for e-facilitators available online 

We have created a dedicated section of training resources for e-facilitators under Resources of our website. This repository provides a list of training modules on capacity building covering topics like ICT for the elderly, youth and migrants, how to run workshops on digital skills, telecentre sustainability, Office tools and more. They are available in English and many other European languages. Have a look!

Skilled and employed - a collaborative position paper

What are you doing to tackle the digital skills gap and youth unemployment? I-LINC project partners just launched their second Wiki space (wikinclusion) to discuss and find solutions to the problem of closing the digital skills gap. The idea is not only to provide a space for discussions, but also to collaborate and contribute to a position paper the main authors of which will be the I-LINC young advisors.

Civil Society Coalition on Erasmus+

The Lifelong Learning Platform and the European Youth Forum together with their members launched a civil society coalition on Erasmus+. Telecentre Europe has joined the coalition and attended its first meeting on 26 April. With other networks in the field of education we discussed how to influence mid-term review of the programme in order to preserve the place of civil society in it and to ensure sufficient funding for relevant projects.

New members

Migrants Help Association in Hungary

Migrants Help Association (MigHelp) was established and legally registered in 2009 by a group of refugees from Bicske refugee camp in Hungary and non-refugee citizens from Europe and non-European countries. MigHelp seeks to integrate refugees and migrants into Hungarian society and the labor market through social inclusion events and life skills training to improve their employability.


Xarxa Punt TIC in Spain

Xarxa Punt TIC is a network of telecentres in Catalonia open for citizens and companies. The network offers the equipment and the necessary personnel to facilitate the access to ICTs (TIC in Spanish) and, in this way, to the knowledge society. The organisation also promotes social and business needs and cooperation between citizens, local authorities and business.

Social Hackathon on 6-10 July in Foligno (Italy)

The Association Study Centre City of Foligno is organizing a Social Hackathon within the framework of Generation0101 project. #SHU2016 - Umbria Social Hackathon 2016 is supported by the Digital Agenda of the Umbria Region and the National Association "Stati Generali dell'Innovazione". The event will be about developing digital solutions for non-profit associations and third sector organisations with many side events.

Final Online4EDU training for teachers

The Online4EDU Blended Learning course took place from 11 January till 15 April 2016 and facilitated the use of online collaboration tools and methods in education. In total more than 120 teachers from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Germany went through 3 month online learning and two face-to-face trainings. Teachers concluded the course by doing the ECDL exam for the module “Online Collaboration”.


Romeo and Juliet in a digital age

Last round of the popular creative iSejf competition for Czech children organized by the NCBI ( was dedicated to the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death. The children were challeged to imagine how heroes of his drama will behave in the digital era. Many interesting works were created and the winner is Jiri Kucera with his short movie Romeo and Juliet ( The competition was sponsored by Facebook and the winner was awarded the trip to London to visit the Facebook headquarters and the Globe.

New European toolbox for youth e-Participation projects

European innovation project EUth launches digital toolbox for youth eParticipation. It combines a multilingual online-platform with a mobile application and offers a wide range of assistance for initiators of youth eParticipation projects, both in terms of software and support. The first features of OPIN are now ready to be used as a trial version on
