SQUIRT Looking for a little one who is full of personality and energy? Squirt might be just what you are looking for. This little guy was found wandering around a local shelter with no one to claim him. He quickly went into rescue and has turned into a happy, fun loving little Chi mix. He shows no sign of abuse or neglect, just love. He is a big kisser and wants to be near his human friends. He loves all toys, squeaky, balls, chewies, you name it. He zips around the yard and gets sooo excited when his humans come home after being away. Click here to ask about me!

Success Story Of The Month
Cici   Name: Cici (formerly known as Sissy)
Adopted: 2010
Family: Jan & Al

We adopted a little chi that we were fostering. This poor girl, all of 7 pounds, was seen being tossed from a vehicle in South Bend Indiana, and was taken to animal control there. They contacted her owner via a microchip and found out that he had given her to a friend about a year before. AC found out that the friend's phone was disconnected and opted to not give her back to the original owner in fear that she would be given away again.

One of our board members was contacted and was told that AC had a senior chi that needed rescuing. She took the chi, Sissy, in and posted for a foster for her. I decided to take her, as I had a new found love for the chis from fostering a few. It turned out that Cici (didn't like the name Sissy) was absolutely the sweetest and best dog and everyone who met her loved her.

Her only problem was that she had severe skin allergies. We could not figure out the cause, but eventually got things under control with medication and a special diet. However, we could not part with her and worried about how someone else would take care of her with the allergies... so we ended up adopting her. She has been just a doll to have and it seems like she has always been with us, even though it has only been a year and a half.

We'd love to hear your success story! Please send us your story and pictures for a chance to be featured in next month's newsletter.
