"Abstraction is real, probably more real than nature. I prefer to see with closed eyes."

Josef Albers

"Structure, Evolution" by Regina Valluzzi, ink on Bristol board paper, 9 x 12 inches  $175
Hi everyone!  First some News.
1.  My recent painting "Asterisms" is featured on the cover of Natural History magazine, with several others featured in a piece on science communication inside the issue (Rube Goldberg Abstract, Learning Circuit, Intracellular Diversion, Life Engine, Asterisms).  Click the titles in the parentheses to go to the artwork description pages (with links for prints, etc). Pretty cool!

2.  I am one of 30 artists selected for the curated "Red Wall Gallery" at the Contemporary Art Fair in NYC.  I will have 3 large pieces displayed right at the entrance to the fair:  Rhapsody on the Sea, Genome, and Autotroph.  I'm still debating whether to also get a booth inside.  The fair is from October 25 - 27 at the Javits Center in NYC, and it is a big juried Fine Art fair (there is a separate concurrent fair for Fine Craft).  It is somewhat unusual because unrepresented independent artists are welcome and are given some good exhibiting options, but galleries and represented artists are also present.  It should be interesting.  More information here at their website, here.  NYC area peeps - please help spread the news!
3.  There is a big artists' and curators' conference coming up in October here in Boston. the week before the Contemporary Art Fair in NYC.  It's called Transcultural Exchange, and I'll be attending (if any one else will be there and wants to get together).  it also looks interesting.
4.  I will have a little booth set up outside the Cyrus Dallin Museum, here in Arlington on Town Day, September 21, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.  The Dallin Museum and their Art on the Green are less than a block from our home, so it's a bit of a no-brainer.  Stop by, and if you're interested in seeing larger more complex pieces than the usual fair fare, we can make arrangements to meet back at my place (say by walking down the hill after Town Day).  Convenient, right?

I have a LOT of new pieces to share - more than can reasonably fit into a newsletter.  If you're interested in any of these, hit reply to email me and we'll set up PayPal ( or PayPal-free credit card purchasing through Square's new marketplace service. (or I'll reply and get you the address to mail me a check and the email lets me know to hold the piece).  There's more information on these pieces if you scroll through recent posts on my website/blog  and there are also additional new pieces not in the newsletter.  Prices can be downloaded here as pdf or as excel.

The pieces on panel and board fit easily into standard sized off the shelf photo and poster frames.  You will have 1 month to return originals that are not what you'd expected, in undamaged condition.  I will pay sales tax and shipping to you, but you pay return shipping (because these are one of a kind items and it's been off the market for a month).
