Talk, Walk, chew gum (chew on art?)

Like Second chance - Artist talk at Athans tonight! on Facebook

1.  I have a solo show closing in just over a week in Brighton, curated by John Quatrale.  For those who may have missed the artist talk and reception in late April, I'll be giving a second talk tonight at 7:30.  I'll be projecting images of technical data and helping make the connection to some of the patterns and ideas in my paintings.  The show is in a big alternative space in the middle of Brighton, MA,. a bakery called Athans. It's titled "insight and allusion" and features a number opf science and technology inspired works.  It IS a cafe, so if you're local to Brighton, you can sit and have a little dinner before the talk.  Not only does Athans have the space for several of my larger paintings, they also have an entire pastry case dedicated to different variants on the ba-kla-va theme.   If the attached flyer doesn't display well in your email try viewing it as a blog post here.

2.  The Beacon Hill Art Walk is this weekend, from around noon to 6 on Sunday. (yay!  think SUN!).  I've got my spot from last year, near the end of Plimus street.  It's in a nice courtyard in a very pleasant hiodden garden, and you can hear music from one of the acoustic group locations filtering in through the fence.  See the official map if you need more info.  I will be bringing some abstract pieces and some impressionistic landscape pieces.  Everything is specially priced for the show, so if you've wanted one of my smaller paintings, this is your chance for a nice deal.  I will be able totake credit cards at the Walk.

3.  The group show at 14 Union Park, an upscale Bed and Breakfast in the South End will also be ending soon.  I have several drawings there (and I don't show my drawings as often - worth a look if you're interested).  Their website has a preview page where you can see my work in the exhibit.  their Open House with the Artists is on May 24,  See the 14 Union Park website for more information, or contact Audrey Burkhart  Stats follow the image
