Youth Campaigns, a San Diego based non-profit has partnered with My Social Media Monster, the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Solana Beach Library to create a special 3-month project for the Solana Beach community. This special Social Media Project will train and certify twelve to fifteen underprivileged Solana Beach youth along with other youth between the ages of 16 and 24. At the completion of the training portion of the project, each youth will receive a certification and will be employed to manage social media for local Solana Beach businesses. This project will help local business gain much needed exposure while providing youth an opportunity to get valuable work experience in the fastest growing industry in the world.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
It is a well-known fact that Solana Beach is one of the most unique and alluring locations in San Diego County. We also know that despite the charm of the local business community, some small businesses in the area struggle to entice visitors to stop in and shop. Shawn McCLondon, a resident of Solana Beach and CEO of My Social Media Monstar, is committed to changing that. He believes that developing a diverse online marketing workforce of millennials to infuse new ideas will unlock untapped innovation and drive market growth throughout the city.
