Today in the Ohio Senate

At today’s session (1:30p), the Senate will consider the following:

Transportation Budget & Turnpike Plan: House Bill 51, sponsored by State Representatives Ross McGregor (R–Springfield) and Bill Patmon (D–Cleveland), appropriates over $7.6 billion for the state’s Transportation and Public Safety Departments over the next biennium. It also permits the Turnpike Commission to levy $1.5 billion in bonds to be used on infrastructure and improvement projects in the state.

Industrial Commission & BWC Budgets: Sponsored by State Representative Robert Hackett (R–London) House Bills 33 and 34 together appropriate more than $660 million dollars to fund both the Ohio Industrial Commission and the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation through fiscal years 2014 and 2015.

Concussions & Youth Athletic Activities: Senate Bill 26, sponsored by State Senator Tim Schaffer (R–Lancaster) corrects a cross-reference in the revised code, created by Sub. H.B. 143 (129th General Assembly). The bill also declares an emergency to hasten the correction.
