We’re adding Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge support to Workshop!
Dear Matterport Customer,
We’re excited to announce that, in early August, we are transitioning to a new Workshop platform that will support Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other major browsers. It requires no plugins, giving you a completely web-based, even more reliable way to edit your Spaces.
Workshop will support the following browsers:
Chrome 48 or later
Microsoft Edge 13 or later
Firefox x86 44 or later (64 bit recommended)
Safari 8 or later
Special note for Internet Explorer users
Matterport Workshop will no longer be available on Internet Explorer after the platform transition. If your Workshop workflow relies on Internet Explorer, we recommend you upgrade to Windows 10 to get Microsoft Edge before July 29th, or download an alternative browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox.*
Microsoft Edge is the new default browser from Microsoft. It is available with the upgrade to Windows 10 (available for free until July 29).
How does this affect me?
Safari users will experience no change.
Firefox users will experience no change, but we do recommend using Firefox 64-bit for Windows for improved performance.
Chrome users will be able to use Workshop on Chrome.
Internet Explorer users will need to upgrade to Edge on Windows 10, or download a compatible browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox.**
For the best performance and security, we recommend using the most up-to-date version of any browser.
If you have any questions, please contact us at our support page.
The Matterport Team
*If you wish to upgrade to Windows 10, you still need to use Internet Explorer through early August (until we support Microsoft Edge). You can find instructions on Microsoft’s community site.
