In PRANIC HEALING® Level 1, you learn the basics of working with your energy aura, including learning to "scan," or feel the energy, to "sweep," or clean away congested energy, and to "energize," or supplement areas in your aura that have a pranic deficiency. You begin by learning to activate the energy centers, or "chakras," in the center of your hands. Energetic anatomy: You will learn to work with the network of charkas, meridians and auras to accelerate the healing processes of your body.

Student Experience

Source Studio is an excellent place to practice. I feel it every time I go, regardless of the class or session in which I am participating, and no matter which teacher is teaching. Aerial Yoga proved to be no exception.  

With a light touch and loving heart, Mohara was able to make everyone comfortable, even a brand new beginner like myself.  As class progressed, I felt safe and trusting of Mohara’s guidance and expertise, which was no small accomplishment, as sometimes we were inverted, hanging upside down in the hammock! :)

Perhaps most noteworthy, I came away from the class feeling like I usually do after a more traditional Hatha or flow class.  Why is this important?  Because as all yoga practice ultimately should serve to bring one into greater harmony with oneself, Mohara has made sure in her development of this class not to lose sight of this goal.  She is not relying on the novelty of Aerial Yoga to attract new students, just so they can try something new.  She is offering the class as another means by which students can connect with that which is most internally important to them.   

Aerial Yoga is real yoga

As I struggled with some of the poses, and with becoming accustomed to the hammock, I realized that I had space to be mindful of my own internal dialogue, and to recognize and release my own internal blocks.  In her accomplished style, Mohara enabled me to be aware of my body’s reactions to the new positions, and to the occasional discomfort of the hammock, and to try to adjust as necessary.  It became obvious, soon enough, that we were not there to become adepts with the hammocks - though this will be a nice by-product of attending future classes.  We were there to practice mindfulness, albeit in a new way, with new props.  We were there to practice authentic Yoga.   

Advantages of Aerial Yoga

So, you may be wondering, if the effect is similar to a more traditional class, why take Aerial Yoga?  Why not stick with a more traditional class?  Well, quite simply, there are different strokes for different folks!  Not every approach works for every student.  As all great teachers do, Mohara is reaching out to her students and offering them as many inroads as possible to that which she would like to share with them, namely, the myriad ways that yoga practice can enrich and improve the quality of their lives.  This class just happens to use hammocks, and scoffs at gravity - just what some students will love!

Specifically, Aerial yoga specifically promotes:

  • A strong core, which translates into a strong self-conviction and the energy to follow our passions.

  • Acceptance in asking for help and trust in our surroundings

  • Learning to let go of that which is not essential or which does not serve us

  • Strong arms, which are an extension of a strong heart.  

I encourage everyone to try Aerial Yoga!  You will be in a great physical space, practicing safely in a loving atmosphere, with a great teacher, while learning something new - most likely, both within and without.  And you’ll get to do Savasana while fully supported in a hammock!  What else could you want?

CTS, Just Dance
Monday @ 5:30 
For the remainder of summer we're revamping our much loved Cardio Tribal Belly Dance for more dance with modern, fun music. No prior CTS experience is needed because the dance routines only have a few combos each, and they repeat within the song, so students may catch on; similar to Zumba classes.
Join us for a fun, less intense dance workout for the summer that puts are bodies and spirits in fabulous shape!
