South Bend Brew Werks’ celebrates 4 years with birthday party Sept. 21

Our favorite local brewpub is turning 4! NRC is proud to be a South Bend Brew Werks Community Partner, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without their (and your) ongoing support from the #Beer4Good program. Join SBBW, NRC, and the other Community Partners The Music Village and La Casa de Amistad to celebrate, have some cake, enjoy some live music under the marquee, and wish Steve and Michelle many more. Friday, Sept. 21, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at South Bend Brew Werks.

NLA Workshop: Alphabet Soup of Community Development

Interested in how neighborhood improvement programs are funded? Learn about Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts, what Community Development Corporations (CDCs) are and how they differ from neighborhood associations, and how federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds can benefit your local community.  Webpage  |  Facebook event  |  RSVP.

Save the Date: NRC’s “Trivia Around the Bend” scheduled for Nov. 16.
Mark your calendars: NRC’s annual Fall fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, November 16 at The Hall at St. Peter’s. “Trivia Around the Bend” will be an evening of fun and marginally useful facts about South Bend and other random topics. Advance tickets will go on sale September 17, and you’ll be able to sign up as an individual, a couple, or form a table of up to 8. The $10/person admission will support South Bend neighborhoods through the work of NRC. Watch for details!

Small Scale Development Seminar and Boot Camp

Interested in being a small-scale developer? NRC is proud to again support the Small Scale Development Seminar and it's big brother, the Small Developer Boot Camp. The Boot Camp (Oct. 27-28) is a two-day program that connects would-be developers with seasoned small developers to help you get your project in shape. You'll make strategic design decisions, learn how to build a pro forma and assemble the pieces to attract investment. And best of all - you'll meet folks who can help. The Sept. 18 Seminar is a prerequisite for the Boot Camp, so if you're interested, don't delay. Details: Sept. Seminar  |  Oct. Boot Camp  |  See flyers
