Community Partners Night caps off four-day SBBW birthday weekend
Learn more about NRC (and eat cake) on Monday, Sept. 18
Four short years ago, our favorite local brewery launched with a bold business model: for every beer they sell, South Bend Brew Werks donates a portion of the proceeds to a local community partner. NRC is proud to be one of the community partners SBBW has supported through the years, so please help us congratulate (and thank) them for four great years of building a stronger community, one brew at a time. NRC will be on hand to share more about how we work to make South Bend neighborhoods stronger. And we’ll bring cake.

Free workshops on Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) coming soon
For community organizers, “ABCD” spells successful change from within
Save the date! NRC and IU South Bend are teaming up to bring you more Neighborhood Leadership Academy workshops, this time a three-part series on Asset-Based Community Development (“ABCD” for short).
Widely regarded as a leading method of improving communities and neighborhoods, ABCD encourages community organizers to start with what they have instead of what they need. Rather than turning to outsiders for help, ABCD principles empower neighbors to make change from within by identifying assets and making connections between them. Mark your calendars and join us to learn more! Co-presented by the IU South Bend American Democracy Project’s Civic Leadership Academy and NRC.
Wednesdays, Nov. 1, 8, and 15, 2017
6:30-8:00 p.m. each day
IUSB (location TBD)
Free lecture offered on small scale development
Are you interested in learning more about how you could become a small real estate developer for a project in your neighborhood? Small developments may be small, but that doesn’t mean they’re easier to get financed and approved -- especially for the novice. Join us for this NRC-cosponsored program to learn how you can become an implementer of the development projects that are missing in your community. See Facebook event.
