You've heard of FIRST and are considering starting a team at your school, organization, or neighborhood group.  Come see for yourself what's involved at this free informational seminar.  Also, a great opportunity for Rookie Teams, Rookie Coaches and Mentors, and young teams to learn and ask questions.

Please RSVP no later than June 15th  via email to Jean Melech, FIRST Senior Mentor, Jmelech@usfirst.org with the date, session (time), number attending and school or area you are representing.


The Four FIRST Programs are:

FIRST Â® Robotics Competition (FRC)
  9th to 12th grade

FIRST Â® Tech Challenge (FTC)
7th to 12th grade
FIRST Â® LEGO League (FLL)
4th to 8th grade
Junior FIRST Â® LEGO League (JFLL)
K to 3rd grade


Our Schedule for each day (both days are identical):
                                              Jr FLL  9:00 - 10:00 am
                                               FLL    10:00 - 11:30 am
                                               FTC    12:00 - 2:00 pm
                                               FRC     2:30 - 4:30 pm
** If you are deciding between FTC and FRC - come to both!
 
Topics that will be covered:
  • Overview of the program
  • What the season looks like.
  • How to register a team.
  • Typical budget and what you need – supplies, equipment, tools
  • How to get funding
  • What does a typical meeting look like – structure, space, etc
  • What functions you need to fill within the team
  • Where to go for help
  • Questions/Answers
Please note that this seminar does not replace the Coaches’ Workshops that still will be offered in September for registered FLL and FTC teams.  The September workshops include detailed information about the new challenge, building and programming the robot, and judging.
