A recent report from ACT finds that ramping up math and science high school graduation
requirements is not a stand alone solution for increasing STEM college and career readiness. Programs like Project Lead the Way® and FIRST® Robotics create the kind of rigorous, project-based instruction, enrichment and student commitment that allow a broader cross-section of students to embrace and learn advanced concepts. KC STEM Alliance is pleased to partner with Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) and other members of the Metro KC Higher Education Collaborative to build cross-sector relationships between industry, secondary and postsecondary schools that can dramatically increase the number of local residents with postsecondary credentials.
