TEAM SOCIAL - back for a third year! This time we're moving the party outside with our own lights and heat. It's a Parking Lot Party! We will have DJ Dave, hot dogs, hamburgers, and grilled cheese all grilled on-site.
When: FRIDAY March 17th from 6:30pm-9:30pm
Where: Parking Lot of MCC-BT in front of main entrance.
Cost: $5 per person (pay at the event) BUT PLEASE RSVP!
RSVP HERE by Tuesday, March 14th. Please record the total number that will attend for your team (adults and students) to the best of your knowledge. No $ needed to RSVP. Ticket purchase can be made at Pit Admin or the concession stand with cash, check, or credit card.
We will have four food trucks again this year outside MCC-BT. As last year, they are Little Italy, The Moose Truck, Street Wings, and Coffee Cake KC.
We are not contracting Box Lunches as we have done in the past. However, we can highly recommend Firehouse Subs. They have created a special FIRST deal for your teams of a $5 box lunch with free delivery to the tournament. The lunch includes a sandwich, chips, and a cookie. Here is their order form. Email completed order form by 3/10/17 to: email@example.com
Be sure your teams dispose of their own trash at all times whether outside, in the stands, in the pits, or in other areas of MCC-BT. Thank you!
CALL FOR STUDENT AMBASSADORS
Each year dignitaries, sponsors and community members are given guided tours by Student Ambassadors (volunteer students from the participating FRC teams.) Student Ambassadors also give tours to younger students on field trips and interact with the media at our event. Please be sure to nominate two students for your team as soon as possible. Click Here to submit names. Deadline for submitting names is Monday March 13, 2107.
ATTENTION: TEAMS ORGANIZING FIELD TRIPS
If you or anyone you know is planning field trips or other student group visits to the KC Regional, please complete this form and/or forward to those who are organizing the trip.
We love and encourage visits by larger groups especially younger students. Help us make the event positive for all by letting us know when you will be arriving and how many in your group. We can assist you as needed via our Student Ambassador program and assure traffic flow around the field and pits is optimum. Please plan on at least one responsible adult per 10 children. We ask you complete the form even if you will be utilizing your own students as chaperones for the children. For food, we will have concession stand and food trucks on site and you may want to consider Firehouse subs with their special $5 box lunch deal for our tournament. See link to order form and more information above. Thank you!
ALL STUDENT SURVEY
The surveys should be printed and given to each student on your FRC Team to complete as a hard-copy prior to the Regional. The students should then return the completed survey to you, the Coach. Please also complete the Coach Cover Sheet and submit it along with your students’ surveys to Pit Administration when you arrive at the competition on March 16th, 2017. Surveys from each team are required to be turned in at pit admin prior to taking the field on Thursday.
Click here for the Coach Cover Sheet.
Click Here for the Student Survey.
These surveys are meant to inform all of us about our students’ participation and possible future interests in mathematics and science. Knowing more about participation in FRC and student future plans assists us in strategic planning and fundraising for FIRST in our Region. At no time will students be individually identified for purposes of this study nor will individual student information be reported. Rather, the goal is to examine the overall effect of participation in FIRST Robotics Competition.
SENIOR RECOGNITION and SENIOR SURVEY
Friday, March 17, 2017 is Senior Day at the Greater Kansas City FRC Regional. We plan to celebrate our seniors with a parade to start off Opening Ceremonies on Friday – and rolling a slide show with the colleges they aspire to. Seniors should wear t-shirts and spirit wear from the college of their choice. Additionally, we are asking colleges in attendance to provide seniors with spirit wear, and hopefully – increase awareness of FIRST Robotics among our post-secondary schools in the process.
Please insure that your seniors complete the senior survey here to answer a few short questions about their post-high school plans. Deadline for survey entries is March 10th so that colleges can provide spirit wear.
VIP INVITATIONS - HELP US INVITE THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE IMPORTANT TO YOUR TEAM:
