The STEM Excellence Pathway Workshop

welcomed more than 140 educators, representing 23 KC metro area school districts plus charter and private schools, who gathered to evaluate and discuss the state of STEM education in their schools. Thank you to the Carnegie Science Center for providing the rubric for assessing current STEM programming and recognizing the importance of incorporating families, community, post-secondary and industry partners in a student's STEM journey. The workshop, held at the Center for STEM Learning - KU Edwards Campus, was made possible by KC STEM Alliance and its generous partners.

Notre Dame de Sion's FIRST® Tech Challenge team geared up to share robotics rigor with 1,000 girls at September's Girls STEM Expo @ Union Station. In October, members of the team attended KCPT's screening of MAKERS: Women in Space and were honored to meet and talk with a woman who paved the launch pad for female astronauts, Mercury 13 member and Kansas City, KS native, Sarah Ratley.
