Worthing Fencing Club Newsletter

Dear Fencers,

Worthing Fencing Club goes from strength to strength. As many of you already know, we started the club at the beginning of 2013 and we now regularly have twenty keen fencers on a Sunday morning raring to keep fit and learn more about our wonderful sport. We are extremely proud of our club and I would like to thank our members for their continued support.
Club News

Our New Home
Since we started the club we have been looking for a venue in Worthing. We are delighted that Rob Parsons has succeded in booking Durrington High School for us on a Sunday. The new hall is light, bright and a good grippy surface - perfect!

Turn into the school drive from The Boulevard, park in the main school car park and access to the hall is through the main school entrance. Click here for a map.
The New Beginners' Course
Sunday 20th October brings the new beginners' course (see our website for details) and a new season of sessions for our intermediates and improvers.

JP will be collecting your subs on the 20th so have your purses and chequebooks at the ready please? £48 for adults and £40 for juniors. This will cover the eight weeks leading up to Christmas. There will be a natural break at half-term because the school is closed for one week. Check our website for exact dates.
As we are still waiting for our Sport England funding to buy more kit and equipment, it would be really helpful if our intermediates and improvers could buy as much of their their own kit as possible please? We can advise you on what to buy and the best places to buy it - a few of those places are listed on the Links page on the website.

Rob is currently setting up his own Fencing kit company where he will be selling new and used kit. This will cover clothing but also bags, wires, swords and other equipment. Details will follow shortly however, please feel free to speak to Rob at the end of lessons in the meantime.
WFC Website
JP has been busy putting some new fencing related movies on the website. Have a look if you haven't already. There are several new categories - tutorialsfitness and historical. Please let JP know if you come across any new YouTube movies you think might be interesting for others in the club and he will add them to our website.
We are always looking for interesting content for the website so if you spot anything suitable then please email JP.
En Garde, ready, allez!
Best wishes,
Chairman, Worthing Fencing Club.
