Term 2 - Friday 18th December 2020
Merry Christmas

The children have worked so hard this term and we all proud of them.  This week, we have all got into the Christmas spirit as the children enjoyed the Christmas parties and Christmas dinner in the hall.

All the children at PaWS have made Christmas cards for different groups in our community.  They sent cards to our emergency services, care homes, the St Mary's Church congregation, NHS Staff, the food bank as well as to our neighbours.  Below you'll see a picture of how Morrisons have displayed the cards Year 2 pupils have sent to their staff.

Thank you so much to all of you for completing our parent and carer survey.  Congratulations to Piers Bucknell who has won the £20 Amazon voucher.  There will be areas that you've have highlighted that I know we can improve on.  I will let you know what we plan to do to work on these areas in the new year.

Don't forget, we have a staff training day in January, so the first day back for pupils will be Tuesday 5th January 2021.

Have a fantastic Christmas as a family.

A Message form Mr Daines

First of all, I would like to thank those of you who have kindly donated any 'pre-loved' books to our school library and book corners - your contributions are really helping improve our reading provision.

It has been wonderful to return to school and see how enthusiastic children are to read. Next term, we will be looking to promote reading for pleasure even further by celebrating National Story Telling Week from 30th January to 6th February and World Read Aloud Day on the 3rd February.

If you’re still looking for some gift ideas for your children this Christmas, then look no further than a great book! Follow this link to find a selection of recommended reads organised by year group:

And finally, if you find yourself in a position to support our school library, please consider donating a book from our school wish list:

Thank you!

Fundraising Star!
Iris in Narnia class has recently completed a challenge that was set by her Brownie group in order to raise money for a charity of her choice. Iris was really imaginative and decided to complete a 2 mile search for the best Christmas decorations. Her brilliant fundraising achieved almost £100 in donations which Iris has decided to contribute to the Ronald McDonald Trust. A brilliant cause and a fantastic achievement - well done Iris!
We're Recruiting...

We are looking to recruit some additional TA support early in the new year.  These will be temporary roles working 1pm to 3pm each day as part of our Covid-19 recovery plans.
