Irish Jazz Releases
Hi there

Hope your programming is going well. We've had a very busy month, from representing Irish jazz and contemporary music at the Jazzahead trade show in Germany, to preparing to announce the 12 Points line up for San Sebastian later this week.

We have String Theory coming up at the end of May, a sonic exploration of the electric guitar in the amazing surroundings of 13 North Great George's Street, and our Irish Jazz festival showcase, Down with Jazz on the June Bank holiday weekend. We've also highlighted some of the brilliant new Irish music being released, with new offering from The Kevin Brady Trio and Zaska.

Keep up to date with us on Facebook, and if anything interests you don't hesitate to email for tickets.

Yours in music making,

Rob, Ken and Aoife

Down with Jazz: Jazz Rising
4th & 5th June 2016
A centenary celebration of rousing and rising, swinging and scatting at Down With Jazz this June Bank holiday weekend in Meeting House Square.

A showcase of the finest acts in Irish Jazz today, the Saturday lineup features Weird Glitches, who combine popular melodic simplicity and accomplished improvisational complexity, award winning singer Edel Meade performing a musical Tribute to Lady Day, two-horns-no chords quartet ReDiviDeR and 8 piece New Orleans style funk band Toot Sweet and the Shadow Man.

Sunday opens with Snowpoet, one of Jazz FM vocalist of the year nominee Lauren Kinsella’s many projects, followed by Matthew Halpin’s Last Chance Dance trio. The Richie Buckley Quintet will show the journey of jazz in Ireland through pure genius and closing the festival is Zaska, who's famous live performances feature a  feel good blend of Future Soul, Hip Hop and Funk.

Bottlenote, in association with Improvised Music Company and Note Productions, present String Theory, a new international festival of contemporary electric guitar. Performances by percussionist Seán Carpio, sculptor Karl Burke and Shane Latimer alongside Keith Rowe (UK), Stian Westerhus (Norway) and Frank Möbus (Germany).

As with previous Bottlenote event The Walls Have Ears, String Theory will feature the abandoned beauty of 13, North Great George’s Street. This beautiful Georgian residence will host the six improvising musicians with audience led from room to room, experiencing quiet improvisations, explosive sets and moments of magic.
