Jazzahead Call Out
We're delighted to announce that Culture Ireland, in association with Improvised Music Company, will be providing funding assistance for Irish artists to travel to Jazzahead this year, taking place in Bremen, Germany from 27th-30th April. Jazzahead is as an exhibition and meeting point for the international jazz scene and this is a great step in increasing the Irish presence at the festival, and a fantastic opportunity for Irish artists. The deadline for applications is Monday 6th March, so make sure to get your application in quick!
On a final note, this will be my last Musician's newsletter, as I'm moving on from IMC in March. It's been a pleasure to work with all of you during my time here, and I wish you all the best in your careers. We're currently looking for my replacement and you can find more information on that here: http://www.improvisedmusic.ie/news/job-opportunity-production-administrative-manager. Hopefully I can see you all at my last Musician Meet this Thursday in Third Space Aungier Street.
Culture Ireland is inviting applications from artists, labels and promoters for support for attendance at Jazzahead! taking place in Bremen, Germany from 27 to 30 April 2017. Working with the Improvised Music Company, Culture Ireland is examining the feasibility of an expanded Irish presence at the event from 2018 onwards.
For 2017, Culture Ireland is offering a very limited number of delegate bursaries aimed at those artists, managers, members of resource organisations and companies who have a track record of achievement in the contemporary jazz genre.
The next IMC Monthly Musician Meet will take place from 15:00-17:00 on Thursday 2nd March in Third Space at the Y on Aungier Street (just a 2 minute walk from JJ's).
As always, come on down and let us know what you're working on, and what IMC can do for you. And of course we'll have free tea and coffee.
