April 2021

Dear River Neighbors,

It is important for all us who love the Tennessee Valley to stay abreast of the on-going plans and important work of TVA. For that reason, I want to share highlights with you from the May 6th TVA Board of Directors meeting.

TVA President and CEO Jeff Lyash presented a vision of how TVA will continue to serve the Valley for years to come. Additionally the Board endorsed a strategic focus on decarbonization and a commitment to providing a reliable, low-cost energy supply as TVA moves into the future.

TVA leadership issued a “Strategic Intent & Guiding Principles” document to provide direction for developing business strategies that provide safe, reliable, resilient, low-cost and clean energy to the region. You can see the document’s Executive Summary here.

Our 2020 Sustainability Report  was also published last Thursday.  Sustainability is a critical part of TVA’s mission, and this report provides a comprehensive view of our performance and future aspirations. Learn more about TVA’s decarbonization journey.

Additional details from the Board meeting can be found in the meeting recap press release.

I hope you find this information useful. We will be back in touch soon with our regular version of River Neighbors, and it will be full of great information to get your summer off to a terrific start. If there is something specific you would like us to cover in River Neighbors, please email us at nrpublicoutreach@tva.gov.

Thank you for your interest as we continue to serve the Valley and keep you informed,
David Bowling
